One of the reasons why high aluminum castables are prone to cracking during use is that they set too quickly or have poor flowability. This requires adding some silicon powder to slow down the condensation time. Alternatively, adding a little trimeric or hexavalent chemical products and adding some high alumina cement can also solve this problem.

In order to prevent the cracking of high aluminum castables, in addition to the addition of anti cracking agents mentioned earlier to improve the permeability of high aluminum castables, an effective and more important measure is to use a reasonable heating and drying system to control and reduce the maximum vapor pressure inside the castables during the drying process. After the selection of a material and completion of construction, the only way to solve the problem of cracking is through reasonable drying and heating. If the drying and heating system is not reasonable, even if the permeability of the pouring material is high, it can cause cracking. Different curing temperatures and drying systems will generate different steam pressures inside the castable. When the maximum steam pressure value exceeds the material's tensile strength, cracking occurs. Castable is prone to cracking, so be particularly careful when drying.

The temperature and vapor pressure generated during the heating process of high aluminum castables with different curing temperatures are also different. During winter construction, due to the low curing temperature, significant steam pressure may be generated during drying. Special care should be taken when heating and drying.
